The "Radical Reformers"
would be utterly disgusted if they could see some of what claims to be their spiritual descendants.

It is my intention to examine his "reasons" to determine their validity, so I will be doing so occasionally in these posts. Stay tuned.

OBEDIENCE DETERMINES IDENTITY

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. - Romans 6:16-22

Be not deceived, if you do not obey the Bible, you are NOT a Christian.

Obedience to sin identifies you as a sinner, ". . . without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" (Ephesians 2:12)

Obedience to God identifies you as a child of God, made possible by the atoning blood of the precious Lamb of God.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; - Hebrews 5:9

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: - 1 Peter 1:18-19

O! the Blood of Jesus!!

Because of the blood, we can be found obedient and faithful at His return. Glory to God!

Read this book last night.

Review of the awful sins of Rome and the Scarlet Harlot's means of deceiving the world by her delicate speech. Romanism is purely satanic. Let history (as late as the 1940's) remind us of her dark past and brutality against true Christians and anyone who would dare resist her will.

What a diabolical and loathsome institution is Rome!

A Profound Truth

Jesus Christ died upon the cross at Calvary as the ultimate means of making the possibility of holiness a reality to each of us. If we put our trust in Him and avail ourselves of His grace which He so willingly offers to all (Titus 2:11-13), He gives us the power to become sons of God.

Power -- (ἐξουσία) this is authority or privilege.

With this authority comes responsibility. We have the responsibility as Christians to walk, in this life, above sin. Not only do we have this responsibility but the ability, through His Grace, to do so.

So many in our day would like to redefine "grace" in such a way that it somehow makes God blind to sin, instead of clinging to the Biblical definition, which is that God given attribute that makes men holy, a holiness whose intrinsic nature is to obey God in all things.

Know full well my friends; Jesus will only save those who love Him enough to obey Him! (Hebrews 5:9)

What is Repentance?

Steps to Repentance

1. Change of mind

2. sorrow

3. submission

4. change or amendment of life

Abrogation or removal of any of these steps turns repentance into worldly sorrow and grace into lasciviousness.

True repentance is necessitated by a radical transformation of action, from that which is contrary to God to that which is in accordance with Him, His Word and His government.

To repent and to continue in sin (a theological dichotomy) reveals a false repentance and worldly sorrow. “I am sorry for and wish to escape the consequences of my sin.”

To repent and forsake sin reveals godly sorrow. “I am sorry for and willingly accept the repercussion for my actions before the God I have offended. “

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. ~ 2 Cor 7:10

Repentance: A change of mind (carnal to spiritual) with a corresponding change of action (autonomy to theonomy). This action is actual and not intangible (sin to righteousness). The nature is changed, no longer slaves to sin but servants of righteousness.

Jesus said you will know a man by his fruits (the consequence of actions). Being made free from sin of which fruit brings forth shame, we become servants of God and demonstrate fruits of holiness.

Living in violation of the law of God results in death. But forsaking sin and living in diligent obedience to God brings forth everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~ Romans 6:23

Therefore true repentance is not a single action but unremitting, resulting in a continual audience before God. Sin separates us from God.

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. ~ Isaiah 59:2

Thus in order for repentance to be true our actions must agree with our thoughts. Repentance is not simply a mental assent but a determination to continue in a holy and righteous manner of living with the Lord Jesus Christ as our pattern.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. ~ 1 John 2:6

The Lesser Evil
